DESCRIPTION: EPW - Dent, London, keyless lever, 48mm, 18K gold original demi-HC bearing London hallmarks for 1901, "J W" in oval cameo for casemaker Joseph Walton & Co, rear with seated dog above crest marked "Militat In Sylvis," white enamel SS dial, SW-pin-set, fully capped lever escapement, 19J, gilt mvt, s#52910. Gross weight of assembled watch 57.0 dwt (88.6 g).
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, dark spot toward center of main plate, haziness elsewhere to gilt surfaces, mvt with play at case hinge; dial with some fractures and many scattered hls, small flake below seconds-register, beveling wear of perimeter, seconds-register with glue excess at its seat indicating it has been re-secured; fine hour and seconds-hand, poor minute hand with full finish loss; case shows medium wear, scattered dents to sides, dents to front perimeter between 10 and 12, few mild soft dents to rear, reduced engraving detail, front closing with gap to body of case along left side and portions of right side, lift spring is weak allowing opened front to fall approximately halfway toward closed with gravity; tight bow, crown shows ample wear and has lost its jacket (outer layer); clean plastic crystal.
